About Penticton

Penticton is located in the Southern Okanagan Valley.  It is renowned the world over as one of the most attractive areas in Canada in which to live.

Okanagan Lake & Skaha Lake are two of British Columbia's best known and largest warm water lakes. Okanagan Lake is over 120 km long and connects the three major urban centres of Vernon, Kelowna and Penticton. Skaha Lake, located at Penticton's south end, is over 24 km long and together these two lakes offer warm waters for water enthusiasts.

Penticton offers all of the amenities of a large urban centre, shopping, airport service, yet still manages to maintain its small town charm and friendliness. It is a great place to retire, live, work or invest in a new or existing business.

Climate: Even within the Okanagan there are differences in the climate. The overall quality of life in Penticton is enhanced by having the most attractive climate in all of Canada, with low levels of precipitation, high average temperatures, comfortable humidity levels, short winters and early spring seasons.

The Okanagan is home to 99 wineries/vineyards which produce some of the finest wines in the world, The Okanagan Wine Festival is an experience for all who love fabulous wines accompanied by great food, unique events and a breathtaking setting. World class golf courses, fishing, wildlife viewing, canoeing, cycling and camping are all within close proximity plus all that horse people, snowmobilers, skiers, hikers and sunbathers, rock hounds, history buffs could hope for!

Penticton has hosted many events such as the historically known Subaru Ironman Canada which has been one of the most popular Ironman events worldwide; The South Okanagan Events Centre is the premier sports and entertainment venue in British Columbia attracting world class entertainment. The Okanagan Hockey School has become an International leader in hockey instruction. Players from a total of 27 countries have attended.

Visit the little art galleries and shops and finally picnic under the fruit trees in blossom time, sample the fruit when ready or enjoy the bounty at harvest time all within the South Okanagan.

Located within Penticton city limits in a tranquil valley setting bordered by Penticton Creek, BRIDGEWATER is a short 5-minute drive to nearby amenities such as the Penticton Regional Hospital, shopping, schools and beaches.
